The first documented ancestors of the Persian were imported from Persia into Italy in 1620 by Pietro della Valle, and from Turkey into France by Nicholas-Claude Fabri de Peiresc at around the same time. From France they soon reached Britain. The longhaired cats from Persia were interbred with Turkish Angoras. Their appearance then differed greatly from today's standard. Hundreds of years of selective breeding made Persians cobbier cats with drastically shorter muzzle.

The Exotic Shorthair (ES) is the shorthair equivalent of the Persian and Himalayan breeds and is differentiated from the Persian and Himalayan by coat length ONLY. It is accepted in ALL colors. Its plush, dense coat and similar type give the breed a teddy bear-like appearance. The Himalayan (HI) is a man-made hybrid breed identical to the Persian, but distinguished by the points on the cats' extremities (the facial mask, feet, ears, and tail) which results in a Persian-type cat with the coloring and deep blue eyes of the Siamese-patterned cat. The Persian (PS) has a long coat, flowing all over the body with a dense undercoat giving the coat full volume. The ruff should be immense. All traditional, sepia and mink colors are accepted.

Origin:

There are many versions of Persian cat's origin. One of them is that roots of Persian cats went back to Persia (modern Iran). Just there Italian aristocrat and traveller Pietro Della Valle found unusual longhaired cats during his travel in Eastern Europe, Turkey, Persia and India (1614-1626). In his book 'Trip to Turkey, Persia and India in 54 letters' he described in details cats, which he saw in Ishafan (Persia) in 1620. At that time he sent a pair of that grace animals 'with fluffy, long, especially on the neck and tail, fur' to Italy for the breeding. But their further fate stayed unknown.
History:
In 'Natural history' by Fransua-Loui Lekler earl de Buffon, there was given a description of two varieties of longhaired cats, having imported to Europe (the beginning of XVII century) from Afghanistan, Iran and Turkey (native land of Turkish Angora). Painting of that times often reflects the cat similar with her appearance to modern Angora, but cats occur which differ from her with more broad mill of ears, quite expressed transfer from forehead to nose, and thick with evidently expressed undercoat, hair. It gives us a chance to suppose that from the East there was imported not only Turkish Angora, but other variety, survived many names (Asian, Chinese, Russian and others), of eastern longhaired cat, have become a progenitress of Persian.

There is a version, disproving the eastern origin of Persians. The main her point is that, according to the genographic map of spreading of allele L (Long) in natural populations, the most probable native land of owners of long hair is considered to be Russia, where climat was favourable to the developmebt of such hair. And only from there she could be imported to the East as 'exotic wonder'.

All is possible... However, it is hardly possible to foresee the place and logicof formation of mutation.

Another version is probable that by her quite different type and constitution Persian cat is obliged to wild felis manul - this appallingly slow resident of hilly regions of Asia sometimes, when he has a mood, pays definite attention on the local domestic cats. His thickset, 3-4 kg by weight, body in combination with flat face framed with fluffy whiskers, round eyes and little broadly delivered ears really say in favour of this version.

And nevertheless, these and oher existed versions with more or less degree of probability are only suppositions. In reality the history of origin of Persian cat still remains a mystery. That, however, gives us a chance to enrich the collection of these 'probability theory' with not one suppositon.

As a mother:
Persian cat is beautiful, caring mother.

She shares her feelings and nervousness from first 15 minutes of pregnancy. Probably, it is touchingly, because after some time all your house is involved in the problems of 'kittens bearing.' And all two months are in this way. At the moment of birth not only you will have a milk, but your neighbours too :)
A piebald color has also occured in a single GSD bloodline which are now being called Panda Shephered.

A Panda is 35% white, the remainder of color is black and tan, and has no white German Shepherds in its ancestry.Often used as working dogs, German Shepherds are courageous, keen, alert and fearless.

Cheerful, obedient and eager to learn. Tranquil, confident, serious and clever. GSDs are extremely faithful, and brave.

As a pet:

They will not think twice about giving their lives for their human pack. They have a high learning ability. German Shepherds love to be close to their families, but can be wary of strangers. This breed needs his people and should not be left isolated for long periods of time. They only bark when they feel it is necessary. Often used as police dogs, the German Shepherd has a very strong protective instinct, and are extremely loyal to their handler. socialized this breed well starting at puppyhood. Aggression and attacks on people are due to poor handling and training. Problems arise when an owner allows the dog to believe he is pack leader over humans and or does not give the dog themental and physical daily exercise they need to be stable. This breed needs owners who are naturely authortative over the dog in a calm, but firm, confident and consistent way.

A stable, well-adjusted, and trained dog is for the most part generally good with other pets and excellent with children in the family. They must be firmly trained in obedience from an early age. German Shepherds who have passive owners and or who's instincts are not being met can become timid, skittish and may be prone to fear biting and develop aquarding issue.

Training:

They should be trained and socialized from an early age.. Owners need to have an air of natural authority to their demeanor. This is not a breed who will be happy simply laying around your living room or locked out in the back yard. The breed is so intelligent and learns so readily that it has been used as a sheepdog, guard dog, in police work, as a guide for the blind, in search and rescue service, and in the military. The German Shepherd also excels in many other dog activities including schutzhund, tracking, obedience, agility, flyball, and ring sport. His fine nose can sniff out drugs and intruders, and can alert handlers to the presence of underground mines in time to avoid detonation, or gas leaks in a pipes buried 15 feet underground. The German Shepherd is also a popular show and family companion.

Height: Dogs 24-26 inches (60-65cm.) Females 22-24 inches (55-60cm.)

Housing:

The German Shepherd will do okay in an apartment if sufficiently exercised. They are relatively inactive indoors and do best with at least a large yard.

Intelligence and behaviour:

German Shepherd Dogs love strenuous activity, preferably combined with training of some kind, for these dogs are very intelligent and crave a good challenge. They need to be taken on a daily, brisk, long walk, jog or run alongside you when you bicycle. While out on the walk the dog must be made to heel beside or behind the person holding the lead, as in a dog's mind the leader leads the way, and that leader needs to be the human. Most shepherds love to play ball or Frisbee. Ten to fifteen minutes of fetching along with daily pack walks will tire your dog out quite nicely as well as give him a sense of purpose. Whether it is ball chasing, frisbee catching, obedience training, participation in a canine playgroup or just taking long walks/jogs, you must be willing to provide some form of daily, constructive exercise. The daily exercise must always include daily walks/jogs to satisfy the dogs migration instinct. If under-exercised and or mentally challenged, this breed can become restless and destructive.

Sense of smell:A typical Labrador Retriever’s nose has about twenty five times more olfactory receptors than humans. This means that Labradors are able to pick up even the faintest of smells, and from a considerable distance. A dog’s nose is built for superior scent, even in its physical construction. The slits beside the nostrils on your dog’s nose allow more air to pass through the nose, promoting circulation over the olfactory receptors.

History:

The Labrador Retriever is one of the most popular breeds throughout the United States. Originally from Newfoundland the breed was initially used to haul fisherman’s nets to shore. Specimens were brought to England in the 1800’s by ships coming from Labrador the place where the breed’s outstanding retrieving instincts were honed and developed. These dogs are exceptional family companions. They have a number of natural talents and abilities, and they excel in drug detection, guide work, and service work.

African Grey Parrot:

Description: The African Grey Parrot also known as the Grey Parrot. The African Grey Parrots are one of the most popular pet..

The African Grey is primarily ... grey. There is a white area around the eye, and a red tail.

These birds depict different shades of gray colors. They have dark gray wings and a pale gray rump. A featherless rim of skin around the eyes is whitish to light gray. Their head and neck feathers have paler margins, giving that part of the body a scalloped appearance.

Origin:

The African Gray Parrots are native to primary and secondary rainforest of West and Central Africa.

Length:

About 13 Inches

Average Lifespan:

50 - 65 years

African Grey Parrot as a Pet:

The African Gray Parrots are extremely talkative, intelligent, and sensitive birds. These birds are considered to be the best talkers of all the birds. To calm a screaming African Gray Parrot, fly them on your finger or take them for a walk around the house.

BEHAVIOR:

Every night in Gabon vast flocks of thousands of Grey Parrots gather at traditional roosting sites in river valleys where the trees are often over water far from their feeding areas. In other regions, the roosting flocks are smaller but it is common to find over 100 birds in a single tree.

They communicate with a variety of high-pitched screams and loud clear whistles in flight and when perched. Before settling down for the night loud whistles and raucous shrieks can be heard and at sunrise, they chase through the trees performing curious acrobatics before flying off to feeding areas. .

In general, they are a shy bird, rarely allowing close approach; however locally they become quite tame. The African Grey Parrot is renowned for its remarkable powers of vocal mimicry. .

DIET:

They feed on seeds, nuts, fruits and berries gathered mostly in the treetops. When feeding they usually climb from branch to branch rather than flying and will hold the fruit or nut in its foot to eat.

Grey Parrots are especially fond of eating the outer oily flesh of the oil-palm nut. They also prefer the red fruits of Cola tragacantha.

Intelligence:

Experts regard the African Grey Parrot as one of the most intelligent birds. Their talking has been determined to be a learned skill, and not mimicry. They have been found to speak in sentences, and are able to physically manipulate objects with a purpose.

Right cage for African Grey Parrot

It is important that you don't choose a round cage for you African Grey parrot as this has been known to cause psychological and orientation problems for African Grey parrots. Another consideration while buying a cage for African Grey parrot is the width between the bars. They should not be so wide that the African Grey parrot can get his head between the bars and get trapped.

Another design consideration is whether or not the cage opens up at the top

Breeding:

For breeding African grey parrots first of all you ll need to acquire a true pair. Identify the sex of your birds before you set them up for breeding. That can be done with DNA sexing if you do not want any fuss. However, surgical sexing is recommended since it enables the physical examination of the birds' sexual organs and the detection of any potential diseases. As in other surgical procedure, this involves the acceptance of risk.

Age of breeding:Most domestically raised African Greys will be matured enough for breeding at about five years of age.

Breeding cage:. The ideal breeding cage has the following dimensions: 4'(w) x 2'(d) x 5'(h). African Greys breed quicker in this type of dimension than in larger flights and many breeders agree to this phenomenon.

Ideal perch: The ideal perch measures 2' x 4'. During the breeding cycle, the birds will do a lot of wood chewing from the perch. Use a non-pressure treated wood .

You are now ready to start breeding your African Grey

Subtypes:There are two subspecies of African Grey Parrot.

Congo African Grey Parrot

Larger than second one about 13 inches long and light grey in color with dull cherry red tail and black beak.

The Congo grey parrot is found on the islands of Prínciple and Bioko and is distributed from south-eastern Ivory Coast to Western Kenya, Northwest Tanzania, Southern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Northern Angolo. In aviculture, it is often called a "CAG".

Timneh African Grey Parrot

Smaller than Congo African Grey Parrot have darker charcol grey color having darker mahroon tail. It is often called a "TAG". As pets Timnehs begin learning to speak earlier than Congos, and are often said to be less nervous around strangers and novel situations.

',
'breeding_tips' => '

Breeding African Grey Parrots in captivity is intresting job. Reconizing the opposite sexes are best done by DNA testing. But there are some other ways based on breeders experiences to recognize male/female sex. Male have usually larger head and beak as compared to female.

Putting number of birds together is not suitable for breeding prefferably two birds with opposite sexes should be put togeher in seprate cage for successful pair bond. The ideal situation for trouble free breeding is to allow an unrelated pair of young Greys to grow up together in the same cage without too much human attention. African Grey Parrots starts breeding at the age of three years. Hand fed babies are to be used as breeders it is best to raise them in a group, letting them realize that they are birds by their relationship with each other.

NEST BOXES AND CAGES FOR BREEDING

Their native forests the African Greys' nests are found in hollow tree trunks or inside large tree branches. The birds use their powerful beaks to enlarge holes started by nature. They never select an open, bright, sunny area. Nest Box is recommended in L-Shaped two feet high and two feet in the base with 5 inches of enterance hole.In outdoor aviary in cages two feet wide by three feet high by six feet deep, suspended from the ceiling with the base five feet up from the floor is recommended by breeders.

Rosella

Description: A rosella is one of five to eight species of colorful Australian parrots. Platycercus means "broad-tailed" or "flat-tailed", reflecting a feature common to the rosellas.Ranging in size from 26–37 cm rosellas are medium-sized parrots with long tails. The feathers on their backs show an obvious scalloping appearance with colouring that differs between the species. All species have distinctive cheek patches.Sexual dimorphism is absent or slight - males and females generally have similar plumage, apart from the Western Rosella

Origin:
Rosella parakeets originate from all areas of Australia.

Diet:In the wild Rosellas will consume a range of foods found at various levels within their habitat. They will feed at ground level on seeds of grasses and herbs. In trees, especially the eucalypts, and shrubs they will eat fruits , berries, leaf and flower buds, nectars and chew on fresh branches . Insects and the insect larvae will be consumed and this food source provides a good source of easily digested protein.

Life Span:

Rosellas can live for almost 20 years.

Cage Requirements :
Due to their active nature Rosellas need a lot of cage space for their size.

Breeding and nesting:It is best to breed Rosella parakeets when they are of 18 to 24 months.
They are best kept single pairs since they can show aggressive
behavior with other species. Large aviaries with sufficient flight space can
be successful with proper daily observation for any quarreling. Breeding
season is late summer i.e August through winter i.e January.

Once the environment is established, females will generally lay between six
to eight eggs. The incubation period is on average 20 days. They ll
wean from their parents at 8 to 10 weeks old.

Subtypes:

1: Western Rosella:26 cm long, and the smallest rosella. The male is mainly red with yellow cheek patches, green rump, and a dark green tail. The female is duller , with a mainly green head, reddish forehead and yellow cheeks

A rosella is one of five to eight species of colorful Australian parrots in the genus Platycercus. Platycercus means broad-tailed or flat-tailed, reflecting a feature common to the rosellas and other members of the broad-tailed parrot tribe. Their diet is mainly seeds and fruit. There is a big market for sale and buy Rosella parrot for buy and sale as pairs and single.
Early European settlers encountered the Eastern Rosella at Rose Hill, New South Wales, now Parramatta, and so they called it the Rosehill Parakeet, which became, Rosehiller, and eventually Rosella.

Description:

Budgies are often called Parakeets which means any parrot with long tail. Budgies are social animals and enjoy the company of other budgies and humans; they are also very intelligent animals.Budgies are usually found in a wide range of areas in the dryer interior of Australia, but they can also be found in the semi arid and sub humid parts. There are some seasonal movements for budgies though, where they can head northward during the winter.

Origin: Australia.

Diet:

Always feed your budgie fresh quality seed and waterwhich is replaced daily. Your budgie should be given a piece of Cuttlebone which will help file its beak and provide calcium . Budgies will also eat Millet Sprays and Seedbells as well as some vegetables and fruits.

Life span: A Budgie’s life expectancy is quite varied; on average it seems to be around 4-9 years, however some can live up to15 years, and some have quite short lives.

Determination of sex:Sex can be determined by the colour of the budgie’s cere. Males usually have a light to dark blue cere. The females can be recognized by their beige/whiteish ceres.

Size:Size on average is 18-20cm, weighing around 20-40g. Interestingly, budgies that are bred in captivity are usually slightly larger than those born in the wild. With the domestication of the budgie there have spawned at least 32 different primary colour mutations, this allows for hundreds of possible secondary mutations and colour varieties.

Breeding:Breeding season can take place at any time of the year, with couples capable of having multiple clutches (each clutch containing 4-8 eggs).

Breeding cage:Make sure you have a good breeding cage set up which offers your budgies plenty of entertainment as well as giving them a good diet complete with fresh greens. It is very important to have a piece of cuttlebone and also a mineral block in the breeding cage. Diet can be a big factor in successful budgie breeding so it’s worth having a good set up. Ideally your nesting box will be positioned next to the cage.

Breeding and nesting:

Like many parrots, Red-rumped Parrots nest in tree hollows or similar places, including fenceposts and stumps. They lay 4-6 white eggs, Breeding usually takes place in spring (August to January), however, in the dryer inland areas, breeding can occur at any time of year in response to rainfall.

Red rumps are bred easily in captivity if provided with necessary flight space and a large nesting box. Breeders usually use peat and wood shavings as bedding for the nests , birds like to arrange the beds to their likings. As soon as mating has occurred the hen will deposit 4 to 7 eggs which she will brood for about 20 days. Red rump hens will not go out of the nest box whilst on eggs and not even human checking will make them leave their eggs alone. The eggs will hatch around 30 days after and take care to remove the chicks as soon as they are fledged or else the cock may attack his own offspring. One-year-old birds are already able to breed. Incubation from the second egg onwards. The brooding hen is fed by her partner outside the nest. If properly cared for these birds will live up to 15–20 years.

Description: A cockatoo is one of about 20 species of bird belonging to the family Cacatuidae, one of the two families making up the order Psittaciformes, which includes all parrots. Like other members of the Psittaciformes, cockatoos have a characteristic curved beak shape a zygodactyl foot and many other common features.

Life span: Upto 50 years

Origin: Australia

Diet:

In natural habitat, cockatoos typically feed on various seeds, nuts and fruits, such as papaya, durian, langsat and rambutan. As they are also feed on corn growing in fields, they do considerable damage and are, therefore, considered crop pests by farmers.

They also eat large insects, such as crickets and skinks.

Captive birds are usually provided a parrot mix containing various seeds, nuts and dried fruits & vegetables. Additionally, they need to be offered lots of fresh vegetables, fruits and branches for chewing and entertainment.

Social behaviour: High socialization need has a profound affect on cockatoo behavior. If they don't get the necessary attention and interaction they can quickly become bored. A bored cockatoo will often develop bad habits like screaming and feather plucking, and these habits are extremely difficult to break.

Sex difference:

On most species of Cockatoo the eye iris of the female will become red to red brown after about two years. This helps to determine the sex of the bird.
In these birds, the sex must be determined by either a surgical probe, endoscopy, or by a DNA testing. Endoscopy can be done by many veterinarians. DNA testing is done usually with a blood sample or a few plucked feathers that are sent to be diagnosed in a lab.

Reproduction:

Breeding Season:

Cockatoos only breed once a year usually between December and March, when vegetation growth is at its peak.

Courtship & Mating:

As part of the courtship behavior the male ruffles his feathers, spreads his tail feathers extends his wings and erects his crest. He then bounces about. Initially, the female ignores or avoids him, but provided he meets her approval will eventually allow him to approach her.

Once he is accepted as a mate, they will both preen each other's head and scratch each other around the tail. This serves to strengthen their pair bond. Eventually, the male will mount the female and perform the actual act of mating by joining of the cloacae. For bonded pairs, this ritual is much shorter and the female may even approach the male. Pairs leave their group and find a nesting spot in a tree.

Cockatoos form a close bond that lasts for a lifetime. If they are separated, they may slip into a deep depression. In absence of a "true" mate, they may accept a caretaker as its mate.

Nesting and Raising of the Young

Cockatoos generally nest in tree cavities of the largest trees, about 16 - 100 ft (~5 to 30 meters) above the ground.

The average clutch size consists of 2 (occasionally 3) eggs which are incubated for about 30 days. The male and the female share the responsibility of incubating the eggs until they hatch. Generally they raise only one of the chicks, which in most cases is the first one that hatches. However, if that chick is malformed or weak, they will raise the second one.

Famous Sub types:

1: Major Mitchell's Cockatoo:

With its soft-textured white and salmon-pink plumage and large, bright red and yellow crest it is generally recognised as the most beautiful of all cockatoos.

2: Slenderbilled cockatoos:Slender-Billed Cockatoos are large birds measuring between 18-20 inches in length from the beak to the tip of the tail feathers.

3:Citron cockatoos:Most Citron Cockatoos are between 13 & 15 inches in length from the beak to the tip of the tail feathers.

Diet:

Eclectus parrots are vegetarians. At sunrise they leave their roosts in pairs or small groups and feed in the tops of tall trees. They eat a wide range of buds blossoms, seeds, nuts, berries, fruit and nectar.

When kept in captivity eclectus parrots will eat large amounts of green vegetables in addition to fruit and nuts.

Breeding: The eclectus parrot has no regular breeding season. During courtship the male pursues one female and attempts to get her attention by making excited squawking calls. When the female gets ready to mate, she selects a nest site in a hole high up in a tall tree trunk. The entrance is usually about three inches across. She chews up pieces of wood with which to line the nest and makes a soft bed for eggs.

Description:

Amazon parrots, commonly referred to as the 'Amazons', are medium to large parrots belonging to genus Amazona. They were scientifically described for the first time by naturalist Rene Primevere Lesson in the 1830's. Various members of the Amazona group were later scientifically described by several naturalists. These naturalists, in about the 20th century, wanted to have their names associated with these species, though reportedly without any further evidence or specimens than the earlier descriptions.

Life Span:

About 50 years or even longer with good nutrition and care.

Size:

Range from about 10-20 inches in length.

Temperament:

Amazons are extremely intelligent and playful birds that love being the center of attention. They need lots of affection and time with their owners, and they are curious athletic, and seem to enjoy entertaining their owners with clownish antics. However, they are also considered somewhat moody and can become fairly aggressive.

Environment:
Amazon parrots originate from South and Central America, and a few
CaribbeanIslands. There are approximately 27 species, and many
subspecies..

Toys:

Being very playful, Amazons need lots of sturdy toys. Amazons particularly seem to enjoy toys they can manipulate with their feet.

Distribution:

The Amazon parrot is native to the New World ranging from South America to Mexico and the Caribbean.

Diet

Amazon Parrots lean toward having vitamin A and calcium deficiencies. You should provide no more than 20 to40% of their diet with top quality pellets.

Breeding:
The breeding season for Amazon parrots typically starts in spring (April or
May) and continues through the summer.

Sexual maturity

Sexual maturity for most is between 4 and 5 years of age. The female will lay between two and four
eggs, incubating them for an average of 26 to 28 days.

Cage:

The minimum cage size is 24"x36"x48" with bar spacing of 3/4 to 1 inch. As always larger is better

Activities
Exercise and play are important activities for the physical well being and psychological health of your parrot. These activities help deter distress and prevent the problems of screeching and feather picking

Noise Level

All Amazon Parrots are loud at some time. Most are loud at sunrise and sunset, and when you aren’t giving them the attention or item they want. If you provide lots of toys for them to destruct and play with, and change them out often it will help

These would be one of the prettiest of the neophema mutations. The colour can vary from a deep & rich salmon pink with a clear pink crown and almost white cheeks to a dirty washed out pink with a dark brown crown and face. In the clear crowned bird the rump is pink and the primary and secondary flight feathers remaining as normal while in the dark crowned bird the rump can vary from shades of blue to green with the secondary flight feathers showing more cream and even touches of blue and green.
Sexing of the dark crowned bird is relatively simple as the hen tends to show less intensity in the pink and more dark colouring on the head and face. I have been successful in breeding a clear headed rosa ( pink headed ) that requires surgical sexing as there is no noticeable difference between the sexes. The more experienced breeder should be able to determine the sex of the mature bird by behaviour in the aviary. The cock does not show the blue brow.

The Bourkes parakeet has a sweet and gentle temperment. The bird makes a good pet for the experienced avian-lover.They are affectionate but not needy or clingy like some parrots. They are quite independent and can entertain themselves for long periods of time. They don’t need as much one-on-one attention as other larger parrots. They enjoy flying around in the evening and riding around on their human’s shoulders. However, unlike cockatiels, the Bourkes parakeet doesn’t care for cuddling or scritches. They rarely, if ever, bite. They will just nibble at your fingers or taste things with their tounge out of curiosity.Female and male Bourkes parrots are equally affectionate with their human friends. They will give you kisses and preen your hair and face.

bourke’s parakeets LOVE toys! Anything shreddy or chewable is destroyed.
Look for parrot toys covered with chewable/shredable papers or bark, piatas, crumpled paper toys, soft balsa wood toys, swings, ladders.
',

Humans and parrots have a complicated relationship. Economically they can be beneficial to communities as sources of income from the pet trade and are highly marketable tourism draws and symbols. But some species are also economically important pests, particularly some cockatoo species in Australia. Some parrots have also benefited from human changes to the environment in some instances, and have expanded their ranges alongside agricultural activity, but many species have declined as well.'

Some dogs have really short snouts. Some dogs can swim they use all four of their legs underwater that's why when people swim like that it's called a doggy paddle. Dogs get fed twice a day. Dogs eat everything and something like chocolate grapes onions and tomatoes can make very sick. So you should care about these things. Every dog loves a treat. Dogs like to shake and roll over when they play what do you like to play.

Cats are similar in anatomy to the other felids, with strong, flexible bodies, quick reflexes, sharp retractable claws, and teeth adapted to killing small prey. As nocturnal predators, cats use their acute hearing and ability to see in near darkness to locate prey. Not only can cats hear sounds too faint for human ears, they can also hear sounds higher in frequency than humans can perceive. This is because the usual prey of cats (particularly rodents such as mice) make high frequency noises, so the hearing of the cat has evolved to pinpoint these faint high-pitched sounds. Cats also have a much better sense of smell than humans.

Pigeons

Pigeons are gentle birds who thrive on each others company. Their cooing and "laughter" are joyful addition to anyone. Like all birds, they have specific care needs that must be met over the twenty years they will live. pigeons are very peaceful and those kept as pets will even seek out affection from their human family.

Raising a pigeon as a pet is not a much difficult task. Although it is possible to hand feed the young squab, it is not necessary. Pigeons are excellent parents and will continue feeding their youngsters well after they fledge. Pigeon droppings are messier than doves', so keeping one inside means constant clean-ups. Pigeons like to fly. Allow for at least some free-flight time, either inside or out.

The pigeon has a noble history and is one of the most loyal and devoted of birds, and, when raised with love and attention, can be a faithful and treasured companion.

Most species lay two white eggs, which are incubated by the male during the day and by female at night. Newly hatched birds blind and helpless. At first they are fed pigeon's milk, a secretion from the parents' crops that chemically resembles mammals' milk. After a few days the young are fed a mixture of milk and half digested grain by regurgitation.

A great zoo treats the animals as residents rather than prisoners supplies optimal living conditions to the animals to make the activity as close to their natural habitat as possible. A great zoo also runs a conservation program to attempt to breathe animals that struggle to survive in the wild.
